I was in Kamadan there and EVERYONE got disconnected. I finally got back in the game and the districts were beginning to fill up again.
Did this happen to everyone?

Mmm, lag for me since Monday, and still happening now. Can't even go into an explorable area without being killed by the first group I come across, due to lag and an unbearably high ping. >.<

I spent the dragon festival weeekend playing in international districts and all was fine. I have been on today and seemed not too bad in european districts. Still around 200 ping, which is higher than it used to be, but seems playable.
I have no plans to bash Anet on this. I do feel it would be nice to have an update here about what is happening and how they are getting on resloving the problem, but since I am not paying any monthly fee, I can wait. I have a life and can do other things. My life doesn't revolve around playing guild wars.
I don't think it is fair that they keep doing events when a lot of people can't play, however, at the same time, they obviously feel they have to do stuff for all the people who are not affected by this. Although it seems like everyone is, that just isn't true.
My advice, be patient. This really isn't the end of the world and if you feel it is, then you should probably be worried about yourself.

It's strange tho... i've never had any problems whenever they did any events over the weekend... but it's only recently after i've gotten myself a copy of factions that it happened after the dragon fest... very very weird...

pretty much the same here, i was on last night and if i wasn't just doing the reverse run from lions arch to becons perch it would have been harder, but it does seem to be a little better, but by no means fixed

Crap, the lag came to me! I have never had such lag before. Screen freezes of 10 sec+ every 20 sec, error 7's all over the place (got 14 in 10 minutes), etc etc.
I fear that I will not be able to play GW this weekend ;(
I live in The Netherlands.

I can't log in to my character who's in Dasha Vestibule. My other characters get regular ping but with 8,000ms spikes every 5-10 seconds. I'm playing on the euro shard from norway.
Edit: My friend went to Vestibule to check and he got "stuck" there too. We could log in there a little later, but we're still getting the same lag spikes.

Well I have had bad lag for 2 weeks up until Tuesday, all was fine untill 20 minutes ago and then lag spikes of 10k started. So much for thinking the problem was fixed. I hope Arena net sort it out soon.

Fixed or made it worse ? The lag im having today is the worst, 10k+ ping aveRAGE, yesterday many in our guild received disconnection at around 7 gmt, after which most of our ping's were 100-200, so we were able play an AT for the first time in 2 weeks. Its getting really frustrating...

I'm the same. I didn't have any lag (well, there was the usual bad lag for the event, but it was playable) until I logged in today (been doing other things the last couple of days). It's unplayably bad - if it wasn't for the fact that I can still alt-tab, and it starts moving again 4-5 seconds later, I'd think that the game had stalled. Whatever Anet have done to 'fix' the problem seems to have made it worse. Par for the course I guess
EDIT: I'm in Scotland btw, and I'm on an 8mbps ADSL connection (so cable users, it's Anet's servers not your connection)
EDIT 2: This really isn't good enough, and I would suggest that Anet need to pull everyone (or at least, everyone who knows about networking, which obviously isn't all the team) off GW:EN to fix it. Let's put it simply: if we can't get a reliable connection to the servers, then we physically can't buy GW:EN (as ass-kicking as it looks like being) as we won't be able to play it. A week or two (or a month's) delay to GW:EN is less bad than not fixing this lag and nobody in Europe buying GW:EN. Think about it Anet.

Well im glad im not the only 1 with this lag, Ive been haveing "Error 7" type lag and then 50% loseing connection whenever i zone for the past week. I have connacted support and given them 2 -diag tests. I thought it was sumthing to do with the servers and for 1 day my acc was fine no lag... 100avg ping, but i log on today to be greeted by a big 39,000 ping! I have gotten very bored as i couldnt play gw, so ive been looking into other games...
Get it sorted Anet! If alot of ppl are haveing lag, u should deal with them b4 making special weekends etc....

After the server maintenance thingy yesterday my lag dropped considerably down to around 100-200, very playable. actually managed to get some stuff done.
Today i log on to pings varying from 32 to 14,334. Business as usual. GG.

Have said this before ................ repetitive bugger I know.
Everyone MUST send in a diagnostic report if you are affected by the lag.
I know, its boring. If you don't, Anet will keep thinking this is a minor problem being blown out of proportion by users of european servers only.
The more reports, the quicker someone at the top will kick some butt to get it sorted once and for all.
Get diagnosing now!!

I just had about an hour of good ping (100-200), but just 10 minutes ago it suddenly seized up again and I was back up to 40k.

If all this lag continues like this its going to tarnish everyones experience of Eye of the North, there will be huge amounts of people rushing over to the new content. I see mass congestion ahead, not good.
